English Elm and unprocessed Flax carved bench.

This seat is made from the timber of one tree, one live edge board makes the seat with hand turned legs, hand carved spindles and back rest details. All of the timber is of Northamptonshire origin and the flax was grown in my vegetable garden.

Flax, if you didn’t know, is the plant which is used to make linen. This unprocessed fibre adds a rustic and material value to the piece, softening the timber aesthetic.
