Over a decade of studying wood, working as an arborist and harvesting timber has given Robert George a unique insight into craft, design and narrative. Each piece that comes from the workshop is a reflection on this accumulated knowledge, starting on site with a team of arborists and immense camaraderie before becoming more insular and conscious as the timber is worked, shaped and dried.
Simply, this is a utilisation of the most wonderful material - wood. With timber sourced from his own carefully considered arboricultural practices and sustainable small scale forestry operations, all from within a 30mile radius of his workshop in rural Northamptonshire, he seeks to create forms and furniture that reflect on his experiences and knowledge of trees.
